Police. Camera. Art Direction.
If you’ve been out and about on the streets of Warwickshire this summer, you may have stolen a glance at some of my work on the latest local police ads.
The campaign aims to convey some impressive facts and figures highlighting the progress that the force is making in their fight to drive down incidents of anti-social behaviour, criminal damage, burglary and vehicle and violent crime.
Collaborating with the creative team at Vital Marketing, the shoot took place at the Police Headquarters in Leek Wootton and on the streets of Leamington last May, and the final work appears on billboards, phone boxes, buses and mail drops across Stratford, Rugby, Nuneaton, Warwick and Leamington.
Under the banner ‘Visible Results’ each statistic is presented on a piece of police paraphernalia – an epaulette, incident board, notebook and the top of a police car – and a wide variety of different versions were created for all the regions of Warwickshire. As such, the retouching on the job has been huge – helmets off to Sue Cameron!
It was great fun working with my old mate Mel Lawrence and the Warwickshire Police marketing team and Graeme Longstaff and the guys at Vital. I think it’s a cracking little campaign and nice to have played a part in something that will hopefully have a positive impact in my own community.
